About Us

Originally Bacchanal Mas, the band was established in 2007 by Paul O’Donoghue and Richard Gallimore. In 2011 we rebranded and became “UCOM – United Colours of Mas”, a name reflective of our identity.

At UCOM we pride ourselves on our commitment to the historic traditions of mas and fusing them with modern design and techniques. We constantly evolve and innovate when it comes to costume design and concepts, customer service, road experience and exciting themes.

UCOM Carnival have won 1st place in the Notting Hill Carnival fun and fantasy adults category countless times. In 2023, 2024 and 2025 we achieved 1st place in the adult fun and fantasy category, band of the year, 1st Place dutty mas band and best sound system award in with and RC1 Audio in both 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2025 

UCOM are one of the first bands to have a full “On the road Concert” sponsored by Alvero Barrington featuring Patrice Roberts, Machel Montano, Motto, Skinny Fabulous, Mr Killa and Teddyson John which was a truly once in a lifetime road experience.

The Team consists of Paul O’Donoghue – Designer and Artistic director, Adunni Adams and Simon Bedeau – Directors and project managers, Steve Clarke – Band Leader.
